Everyday Star Wars - Episode II

A desk called AT-AT... Star Wars is not a movie, Star Wars is a phenomenon. And the power of this phenomenon has been undiminished over 30 years: Darth Vader, Luke and Yoda have long left the framework of the silver screen and taken their place in the midst of society. There's hardly a spot in daily life that is not visited by the characters, symbols and catchphrases from Star Wars. Author Constantin Gillies once again sets out to find these traces of Star Wars in everyday life - from the pop charts to architecture... or a desk called AT-AT.

Now to Naboo - A Travelogue
presented by Mark Dermul / Belgium

Following his 'Trip to Tatooine' and 'Heading for Hoth' expeditions, Mark Dermul made good use of his family holiday and travelled to Italy in search of the shooting locations for Attack of the Clones. In a 45-minute presentation, he will take us to all the exact locations around Lake Como and the famous Villa del Balbianello where the scenes surrounding Anakin's and Padmé's secret wedding were shot. Chock-full of colour photos, helpful information, and the GPS coordinates o all locations, this panel is an absolute MUST for all fans looking to find out more about this beautiful place.

Lightsgaber Workshop

What would a real Jedi or Sith be without in-depth lightsaber skills? The Saberproject team (who will also be running a booth at JEDI-CON 2010) demonstrate on stage how to do it right. And as the highlight of their programming, they will present a live Saberproject show on the evening of April 4th, showcasing their information, hints and tips in real live action. 

The Star Wars Fan Film Phenomenon

Since digital image processing software has become available to amateurs as well, the number of fantastic fan films has increased dramatically. The "Flying SF Reporter" Robert Vogel presents the development of Star Wars fan films from its origins in the late 70s ('Hardware Wars') via the trend-setting 'Troops' o the mid-90s all the way to the largest projects ('Imps' and 'Revelations'), giving an overview of the best international Star Wars fan films in recent years. And for those of you interested in seeing the full movies there will be a list of recommendations and links where they can be downloaded.
